TRAINING

Training and Coaching is much more than  just training horses or  teaching  individuals how to ride.  Clients are taught how to work with and care for their horses.   At Laurie Hoopes Show Horses we take pride in teaching clients how to maintain their  horse’s training each  and every time they ride, helping them to understand the  hows and whys of  true horsemanship.

Learn how to read and ride today's tough trail courses. Trail classes are one of the most challenging tests of a horse and rider's skill and oneness. Even riders who have no intention of entering Trail Class competition can benefit from receiving Trail instruction. Riders learn to control their horse with light rein contact, sight distances, count strides, negotiate challenging obstacles, and control their horse's individual body parts, as well as learn to really feel what the horses leg's are doing.

Trail Class obstacles are great for all types of riding horses. Western Pleasure horses learn how to perform off the rail, horsemanship horses relax during patterns, dressage horses have a reason to perform maneuvers. Trail obstacles are a fantastic way to prevent boredom and give your horse a whole new attitude.

Riders become more aware of balance and rhythm, and learn to guide their horse gently 'between' their hands and legs, using their eyes to show their horse the correct path. Trail obstacles will help increase every rider's skills, because there is a reason to look ahead and sit balanced on your horse, thus becoming a more functional, effective rider.
